Full Height Shutters

Sleek lines, adjustable privacy, timeless style

Full height shutters are the ultimate in versatility: sleek panels that span the entire window from top to bottom. At East London Shutter Company, we design and fit bespoke shutters that bring balance, style, and practicality to any room.

Whether you want daylight for reading or a quieter room in the evening, full-height shutters let you adjust the louvres across the window. Their frames remain in place, and the panels need clearance to open. Tilt the slats to filter light or close them for greater privacy, then check the sightlines from outside.

Every set of full height shutters we install is made to measure, tailored to the exact dimensions of your windows. From sleek new-build apartments to period homes across East London, these shutters complement every interior style while adding kerb appeal from the outside too.

Why choose our full height shutters?

  • Made-to-measure for a seamless finish

Bring out the best in your windows with expertly fitted shutters that balance beauty and function.

Based in East London, we design, supply, and fit shutters across Leytonstone, Hackney, Walthamstow, Islington, and beyond.

Full-height shutters on tall sash windows

On a Georgian-style or other tall sash window, consider where the shutter rails sit against the existing joinery. Full-height panels create a continuous layout. Where the specification allows separate louvre sections, upper and lower slats can be adjusted without opening separate panels. This differs from tier-on-tier shutters, which have independently opening upper and lower panels.

Keep access to handles and leave room for the panels to open beside furniture. Our guide to shutters for period windows explores proportions and original details.

White shutters with warm timber

White shutters can sit comfortably beside oak-toned furniture or flooring and soft neutral upholstery. Compare the undertones in the room itself, including morning and evening light. Warm timber accents do not require a wood-coloured shutter finish. Explore choosing the right white or colour before settling on the scheme.

Bedroom light control

Full-height shutters cover the opening, but standard louvred shutters do not provide total blackout. Light may enter around panel edges and the frame. If bedroom darkness matters, ask about the actual light-control specification and fitting arrangement. A home consultation can help you compare coverage, proportions and everyday operation.
